City AdministrationGothenburg's city administration is led by an elected mayor and four city council members. A professional administrator employed by the city manages the day-to-day operations. The city council meets on the first and third Tuesdays of the month. The City is a full-service city. Departments include: Administration, Police, Library, Streets, Fire Department, Parks, Recreation and Cemetery; and enterprise functions of Water, Sewer and Electrical. The City franchises for Solid Waste, with three private haulers currently franchised. Other services provided in the community include Source Gas, Qwest communications and Charter communications.
